Remos GX Accident at Sport Aviation Expo

SEBRING, FL – The final day of the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo at Sebring brought shock and sadness to all following a fatal accident in a Remos aircraft. On Sunday, Jan. 25, 7:35 a.m. EDT, a Remos GX seemed to lose control right after takeoff and impacted the ground.

The plane was departing on a photo flight. The passenger, a photographer for the British publication Today’s Pilot, died in the crash. The pilot survived the accident and was airlifted to a Hospital. He is in stable condition.

“We are overwhelmed with this loss and our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the victim’s family,” says Michael Meirer, CEO of Remos Aircraft Inc. “We will provide full cooperation with the authorities as they seek to determine the cause of this tragedy.”

The NTSB will investige the accident.
