As a lawyer experienced in all aspects of airport injuries, aviation accident wrongful death and disaster litigation, Mr. Bohrer has represented the families of persons injured or killed in the loss of commercial, private jet and propeller aircraft, as well as passengers injured during almost all aspects of commercial airline flights and in airports around the world in every category from boarding and disembarking, emergency evacuations, in- flight illness and medical emergencies, hot beverage burns, service cart impacts, to flight attendant inflicted injuries. He has successfully litigated claims against American, Delta, Caribbean Airlines, Jetblue, El Al, Air Jamaica, Korean Air, Alitalia, Austrian, Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France, Emirates, Etihad, Qatar, China Airlines, Japan Airlines, Swiss, Tower Air, Turkish Airlines, United, US Airways Virgin Atlantic, and others.

Abe is also among lawyers currently representing families who lost loved ones in the tragic March, 2019 crash of Ethiopian Airlines ET302 in which a defective Boeing 737 Max 8 crashed shortly after take-off from Addis Airport killing all 157 aboard. He filed a wrongful death lawsuit in federal court in Chicago seeking damages from Boeing on his client’s behalf.

Abe represented families of victims killed aboard American Airlines flight 587 which crashed shortly after take-off in the Rockaways on November 12, 2001. Mr. Bohrer brought lawsuits against both the carrier American Airlines for negligence and violations of the Warsaw Convention, and as against Airbus for products liability on the theory that the defective design of the aircraft’s rear vertical stabilizer was a cause of the airliner’s loss of control and ultimate crash.

Mr. Bohrer is among a small group of aviation lawyers in the United States to successfully bring to trial and win a verdict in a case involving the treaty known as the Warsaw Convention which formerly governed the rights of international airline passengers. The landmark decision reached in Magan v. Lufthansa scored a major victory for airline passengers’ rights under the Convention. In Magan, Mr. Bohrer defeated the airline industry’s attempt to limit financial recovery to commercial airline passengers for turbulence related injuries under the Warsaw Convention. Abe won a ruling before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and took the case to trial, where he won a significant verdict on behalf of the injured passenger; a case which until today defines the rights of international flight passengers injured by turbulence.  Click here for more info.bulk.resource.org/…39/339.F3d.158.02-7172

Mr. Bohrer also has mass tort experience and represented dozens of patients injured by defective metal-on-metal Depuy hip implants, defective diet drug Fen-phen, and represented Suffolk County New York in a mass tort action against the makers of the cholesterol inhibitor drugs Vytorin and Zetia which resulted in a settlement of over forty million dollars by the drug makers.
